As the situation with Coronavirus continues to unfold, BSAS trustees have been monitoring the situation and the viability, given personal and organisational enforced travel bans on both delegates and presenters, of hosting the BSAS 2020 Challenge of Change Conference commencing 30th March.
We have made the difficult decision to cancel the main BSAS programme, due to the impact and escalating scale of the COVID-19 pandemic. On behalf of the BSAS, we apologise to all concerned.
We will compile and publish a digital book of the peer reviewed and accepted abstracts for the 2020 meeting. We are also looking into the possibility of incorporating those abstracts into next year’s annual meeting programme.
We are giving you notice as soon as possible to minimise your inconvenience but owing to the dynamic and fluid situation, we have yet to confirm all further details. For example, we are considering options for how best to utilise the venue for our AGM and workshops on our future strategy. BSAS would ask for your patience as we consider all options, which place the best interests of the Society and you, our valued stakeholders, as our highest priority.
On behalf of all of the trustees of BSAS thank you for your understanding, continued support and patience while we finalise details of those plans.
Eileen Wall, BSAS President
